Slater Tract

Property Description
Slater Tract

The 3,507.45-acre Slater Tract is a keystone property in the Southern Coastal Biodiversity Project and protects the varied habitats and several federal species of concern on site, including Federally At-Risk Gopher Tortoises, and the suite of other longleaf pine community species. Two rivers—the Coosawhatchie and Tulifiny—and a vast network of tributaries traverse the Tract, creating aquatic complexity with over 15 miles of river and stream frontage.  The tract is dually enrolled in the Wildlife Management Area (WMA) and Heritage Trust (HT) Programs providing public access to hunting, fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, and university research.
