Salters Property

 Property Description
Salters Property

The Salters Property has been in the Salters family for over 200 years and is situated on a state-designated, scenic section of the Black River with 8,600 feet of frontage. In addition, the property fronts on Thorntree Swamp for 6,000 feet before it empties into the Black River. This project offers significant protection of scenic views along the river as well as water quality and habitat protection. With the Black River Initiative in full swing, protecting the river frontage of the Black River is more important than ever. With the heavy investment of public funds in to the Black River State Water Trail and Park Network, conservation easements are a complimentary tool to protect that investment by protecting the river frontage. The Salters Property offers critical habitat connectivity by linking protected lands and creates a corridor on the scenic Black River where nearly 5,000 feet are protected by conservation easement on both sides.
