The Santee Bottomlands Preserve Property is located in Berkeley County, near St. Stephen, SC. The property has frontage on approximately 7 miles of the Santee River, 3 miles of the Rediversion Canal, and contains over 2,250 acres of mature bottomlands hardwood forest. This property hosts critical habitat for numerous wildlife species. The conservation easement will prevent all commercial timber harvests, all subdivision, and commercial and industrial uses in perpetuity, and it will limit impervious surfaces to 0.5% of the entire property. These restrictions will help permanently guarantee water quality, critical wildlife habitat, and the natural integrity of the Santee River Focus Area.
