Property Description Myrtle Grove

The protection of Myrtle Grove Plantation - Marvin Tracts B&C is extremely important in that it completes the protection of all 2,073.21 acres of the landowner's property in the ACE Basin. It is also important to wildlife because it serves as a keystone piece in creating a connective corridor of protected lands spanning from the Combahee River to north of White Hall Road and the rail line. Protection of this tract will benefit numerous wildlife species. The land use on this property consists of 357.83 acres of wetland impoundments or historic rice fields. At present, the historic rice fields are minimally managed for waterfowl. The general public will benefit from the protection of Myrtle Grove Plantation since it is within close proximity to ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge and is also visible along the 0.25 mile frontage on White Hall Road.
