Property Description

The Silver Bluff Audubon Center and Sanctuary is located in Aiken County, SC, approximately silver bluff5 miles northwest of Jackson. It is situated in the Savannah River valley in the upper Coastal Plain. Silver Bluff lies within the more than 2 millions acres of the South Lowcountry (SoLo) Focus Area featuring diverse ecosystems and a wealth of wildlife. Silver Bluff is situated on and prominently visible by the public from Savannah River, having approximately 2.7 miles of scenic river frontage. This property maintains 2.75 miles of hiking trails, public access for viewing wildlife at Wood Stork foraging pond, and nearly 20 miles of horse trails that provide "behind the scenes" looks at the property during several organized equestrian events throughout the year. Organized tours also provide access to the site of George Galphin's 18th century trading post within 175 acres that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
