Jenkins House

Property Description
Jenkins House

The Jenkins House is a late Federal cottage constructed in Pendleton in 1835. The home is the earliest example of its type in the area and the only residential example of the work of Pendleton cabinetmaker Knauff.  In addition to the home, the site contains 7 historic outbuildings which constitute the largest collection of historic resources in context in the Pendleton Historic District. The 9.23-acre tract of land includes a lengthy stretch of the headwaters of Town Creek and is two blocks from the town square.  the entire tract is preserved and protected through an easement held by Upstate Forever, and the open land will be set up as a passive park for the community through a partnership with the Town of Pendleton..
