Property Description
The 654-acre Cooler Dairy Farm is in the ACE Basin Focus Area, approximately five miles northeast of the City of Walterboro on the edge of a quickly developing urban-rural interface. The property contains a mix of upland pine woods, agricultural fields, and freshwater wetlands, including 4,305 feet of frontage along Fuller Swamp Creek. The wetlands, Fuller Swamp Creek, and its associated tributaries drain into Horseshoe Creek Watershed and forms the headwaters of the Ashepoo River and St. Helena Sound, recognized as one of the most pristine estuaries on the eastern seaboard. This project will build upon years of land protection efforts in Colleton County and the ACE Basin.
