Carter Property

 Property Description
Carter Propery

The land of the easement is mostly composed of grassland and forestland. The forest is mostly late successional habitat with some old growth trees and vegetative creek frontage from Burgis creek. The implementation of this conservation easement will protect this critical habitat from the development that is prominent in southeastern Rock Hill along S Anderson Rd and increasing every day. With the stretch of Burgis Creek protected, water quality in Rock Hill as well as the health of the creek and the Catawba River that it flows into will be safeguarded. The land itself has also been in the landowner's family for centuries, since the early 1800's, and protecting land that's hosted a family for generations as a generational homestead and small-family farm is crucial to Rock Hill's history and culture.
