With the stretch of Burgis Creek protected, water quality in Rock Hill as well as the health of the creek and the Catawba River that it flows into will be safeguarded. The land itself has also been in the landowner's family for centuries, since the early 1800's, and protecting land that's hosted a family for generations as a generational homestead and small-family farm is crucial to Rock Hill's history and culture.
