Watson Farm

 Property Description
Watson Farm

Watson Farm is used for forestry, agriculture, residential, and recreational uses. The majority of the property is forested with planted and natural stands of loblolly and longleaf pine as well as significant bottomland hardwoods along Black River and Birch Creek. The property has an exceptional variety of wildlife habitats, some managed and some left in a more natural state. The pine flatwoods and longleaf pine stands are well managed for timber
production (by a local forester) and wildlife habitat while the bottomland hardwoods and cypress-tupelo swamp are left un-cut for the benefit of wildlife. Such bottomland hardwoods and swamps are classic examples of the Black River floodplain, the protection of which benefits wildlife habitat and water quality within an important river system to the Pee Dee Region and the state.
