Property Description

Scotswood protects an ecologically significant tract in the Santee River Focus Area. The property consists almost entirely of longleaf pine savannah, forested wetlands and food plots, which provide critical habitat for numerous wildlife species, including: (a) game species, (b) priority fauna species, and (c) threatened and endangered species. Scotswood provides one of the best intact blocks of habitat in SC for wild quail populations and lends itself as a model for studying the recovery of the species.
