Property Description

The Marhaygue Farm Tract is managed for forestry and wildlife, within the "waterfowl corridor" of Lake Marion. A diversity of habitats and forest areas occur here that sustain healthy populations of all major game species in South Carolina. This land may also provide stop-over and resting habitats for the millions of migratory birds that pass through the Southeast in spring and fall migration. There is public access to approximately 375 acres of this property that allows access to trails connecting with the Santee Wildlife Refuge, research activities conducted within and around the Carolina Bay as well as a public landing road that traverses this property.
