Waterloo Tract

Property Description

WaterlooThe Waterloo tract is the first opportunity to conserve land in Laurens County. Located immediately upstream from Lake Greenwood, which supplies the drinking water to Greenwood, this land has 2,220 feet of Saluda River frontage. The land would be easily accessible to groups such as the Boy Scouts and Indian Guides. When the easement was placed on the land, the owners surrendered all future rights to the vermiculite mining. This type of mining would have severe detrimental effects on the Saluda River. The Conservation Bank helped ensure the future of the Saluda River.
