This parcel of land is 175 acres of naturally significant and diverse land located directly on Scenic Highway 11 at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This was the location of Camp Spearhead for years until the camp moved and the land was in critical danger of development. This camp was special because it provided handicapped access to many paths and natural features. Located along the Saluda River, this area has excellent habitat for wildlife. Future uses for this land could include park facility center or nature center as the infrastructure is already in place. The area provides a perfect spot to watch annual raptor migrations as 8,000-10,000 hawks are counted each year during migration season.
