Wambaw Tract

Property Description

The Wambaw tract is adjacent to the historical St. James Santee ChurchWambaw. This church celebrated its 300th anniversary in 2006. The property has been sold to the Village Museum with an easement held in perpetuity by The Nature Conservancy. The Village Museum manages the land which serves as an outdoor classroom for one of South Carolina's most significant architectural treasures. The land is located in the corridor between the ever expanding cities of Mt. Pleasant and Georgetown. Before funds were secured from the Conservation Bank, the nearby Town of Mt. Pleasant had entered into discussions to extend sewer and water so the land could be subdivided. Instead, this historical property will remain intact and will be appreciated and enjoyed for years and generations to come.
