Property Description

Seven Oaks is a magnificent piece of rural property at the entrance to Johns Island just over the Paul Gelegotis (Stono River) Bridge in Charleston County. The property is currently used for hunting, timber and agricultural activities. It is prominently visible by the public from River Road, Seven Oakshaving approximately 1,050 feet of scenic frontage. Seven Oaks lies within the more than 800,000 acres of the Cooper, Ashley, Wando, and Sea Islands (CAWS) Basin Focus Area which has suffered a noticeable loss in recent years. This property provides significant public benefits including the protection of adjacent Lowcountry wetlands, as designated by the Charleston County Comprehensive Greenbelt Plan as an are of land targeted for conservation in order to enhance water quality, fish and wildlife productivity, and to prevent disturbance to areas that provide critical floodwater storage and filtration. Seven Oaks contains a diversity of relatively natural habitats including agricultural fields, cleared areas, upland forest, and forested/emergent/estuarine/marine wetlands, all of which support a variety of floral and faunal species.
