The Salt Point Timber tract has extensive wetlands and historic rice fields. This land is close to the West Branch of the Cooper River adjoining Mepkin Abbey and other protected rice field tracts. This land is included in the Cooper River Focus Area, Cooper River Special Area Management Plan and the Berkeley Cooperative Greenspace Initiative. Conservation Bank funds will go towards helping to restore the wetlands on this magnificent piece of property.
