Property Description

The Lawton Tract is part of the Savannah River Preserve Conservation Program. This "Program" was founded by concerned citizens of the Lowcountry who see development of similar lands and wish to maintain the beauty and wildness of their lands. These owners elect to sell conservation easements on their land for a flat rate of $250 an acre, well below market value. The Lawton Tract is adjacent to the Webb Wildlife Center and contains over 700 acres of forested wetlands. The acquisition of this easement will contribute to landscape connectivity and the linkage of critical wildlife habitat.
