Property Description

This Jones family's land is located along the Black River in the Pee Dee area. This magnificent piece of property fits tightly into a mosaic of protected properties in the immediate vicinity. By contributing to the existing protected lands, preservation of the Jones' tract reduces the threat of fragmentation, which would destroy habitat and reduce the functionality of the river. Non-fragmented lands are especially important for the Threatened Swallow-Tailed Kite, which has been spotted flying overhead. Funds from the Conservation Bank were instrumental in preserving this special place.
