The tract is adjacent to the ACE Basin and provides a significant linkage between the ACE Basin and the Toogoodoo Creek.The value of this land rests not only its beauty but its magnificent habitat to a variety of species. This land is perhaps most important for its American wintering grounds of many Caribbean and Latin American neotropical migratory birds. Conservation of this land will also assist in the long term conservation of the Bald Eagle, the wood stork and the shortnose sturgeon. The purchase of this land contributes to the already preserved 1,618,767 acres of the ACE Basin.
