Property Description

The Battery Wilkes Tract houses an important piece of South Carolina history in Charleston County. The property saves a Civil War fortification listed on the National Register of Historic Places and one of only fifty or fewer remaining fortification sites out of the 183 that once existed in Charleston County. It is located on the Savannah Hwy with the hopes of becoming part of the City of Charleston and a public park.
