Westervelt Timber

Property Description

Westervelt Timber is a property consisting of 12,418 acres of forested, cleared,Westervelt and wetlands, along with 1.7 miles along a tributary of the Coosawhatchie River. This property is located in Allendale County with a small portion in Hampton County. The Westervelt property is comprised of upland pine plantations, bottomland hardwoods, Carolina Bay depressional wetlands, mesic mixed pine hardwood forests, and xeric sand ridges. The property is managed as a commercial timber venture by the Westervelt Company. The Westervelt property supports large numbers of deer and turkey as well as populations of nongame species. The scattered depressional wetlands provide breeding habitat for amphibians as well as foraging areas for wading bird.
