Black River State Park - Phase I

Property Description

Saluda Rivers GorgeThe Black River, stretching 150 miles exclusively within SC, is one of the most beautiful and under-utilized rivers in state with the potential to offer residents and visitors a wilderness-quality experience along a coastal-plain river. South Carolina Conservation Bank funding supports the acquisition of the 310-acre Phase I in Williamsburg County as part of a growing network of protected natural areas along the Black River and one of four properties targeted for the first phase of a unique riverine State Park in South Carolina. SC PRT and partners engaged in this project envision a network of State Park and additional public access holdings stretching 70 miles along the Black River which will create a unique experience for visitors, unlike any other park in SCPRT’s system.
